Joe Richardson Express Bio

Joe Richardson -- Guitar/Vocals/Harmonica

Born in Louisiana's Atchafalaya River Delta, playing music has been a way of life from an early age. At the age of 6 Joe received a guitar that his grandfather got from a pawn shop, and he taught himself to play. Joe started playing clubs in the area at the age of 13. Years of stage experience in varied genre, has allowed him to develop his unique and rather unorthodox style of writing and playing. Submerging himself totally in his music is what drives and has driven his very existence for as long as he can remember.

Richard Lamm -- Drums

Richard Lamm is the drummer EXTRAODINAIRE for the Express. Raised in and around Austin, Richard says "he's been in too many bands to remember! He has done extensive roadwork in the US and abroad and played with many touring and recording acts.

John Wolfe-- Bass

Born and raised in Pittsburg PA, John learned the ropes under the strong blue-collar R&B/Soul influences of the area. After relocating to Florida, he worked with numerous touring bands under the blues label " King Snake Records". Hearing about the music scene in Austin, John decided to give TX a try in 2003, and the Express is glad he did!

Collaboration

In 2007 Joe and the express teamed up with

On Tour
in
Europe
with Chuck Berry

These are some pics from our European tour with Chuck Berry.

The performance in Prague was a big

deal!

This was the first time Chuck Berry had played there, because

previously, Prague was behind the "Iron Curtain". We were met by

the type of paparazzi usually reserved for entertainers like The Beatles, or maybe Elvis. The President of the Czech Republic even attended the performance, and was brought backstage

to meet everyone.

Joe Richardson Day

September 28, 2006 was proclaimed Joe Richardson Day in Austin, Texas by Mayor Will Wynn. Joe and the Express performed the song "Virginia" in the council chambers at City Hall. After performing the song for the Mayor and Council members, they received the Proclamation. The City Council meeting aired live on Cable Channel 6 and we hope you all enjoyed the unplugged performance. Thanks....... The Joe Richardson Express !!
